Summary of Content:
• The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is about a young kid and a runaway slave, named Jim. Huckleberry Finn has a father that is a huge lush/alcoholic. Huck inherits some money and gives it to Judge Thatcher. He is the only man Huck can trust, and kind of looks up to him as a father figure because his dad is a bum. Huck’s dad ends up finding him, and takes him away to a cabin by the river. His dad got really drunk and beat him so Huck faked his death and ran away from him. Shortly thereafter, Huck went to Jackson Island to meet up with his friend Jim. There was a big storm that caused the Mississippi River to rise and flood. It turns out that they ended up finding a raft, and an abandoned house. After this, the two find themselves in a number of epic events that make this adventure one of the most recognized novels in American History.

• Type of Reader: I would class my self as alliterate/casual reader. I enjoy reading magazines, and newspapers, internet, etc…., but I really don’t really get around to reading many books, unless it is for school.
Questions and Answers:
I first found this book in the library of my High School, and read it during class. This book impacted me because I really enjoyed all of the action and adventure in the story. I also really liked Huck and Jim's relationaship in the story. They were really great friends, no matter what color Jim was. I would recommend this book, even though the content and some of the language is questionable. I just think it is just a great story full of adventure. Underlying the story lays many social issues, as well. Of course, I would remember Mark Twain. I would hope that most everybody has read some work of Mark Twain. He is widely known as one of the greatest American authors of all time. I would like to think that the underlying message in the story is to be able to accept everyone in society, and live life to the fullest.
